I learnt this song years ago after going to watch The Saints in Newcastle. Chris had a broken leg but you'd never have known it as he leaned on the monitors completely in the zone. I met Iain Shedden at this show, and that's how I ended up having him play drums on my first album, Lucky me!.. I remember trying to convince Garth Porter to let me use a punk drummer on my record and as proof of Iain's multi genre skills I sent Garth "Massacre" from The Saints Prodigal Son record Iain played on. What a song huh... It keeps evolving over the years for me, from lonely moments to even lonelier ones, it's such a beautiful containment of the emptiness of the end. I did play it once for Mr Bailey, thankfully he approved and said he always thought he was a girly songwriter.
